Gethsmane Scholarship Institute serves the youth in the rural community of Fond des Blancs, Haiti. Our K-7 school has been providing basic education to approximately 200 students a year for the past 20 years. We are currently working to complete an official school with real classrooms. Our 8 teachers are unaccredited teachers but former students are now receiving accredited teacher training so they can return and serve as professional teachers. We will be returning to Haiti this summer to finish the walls of our classroom and repair any damage to our other building that may have occurred during the January 12, 2010 earth quake. If you would like to join with us in our work or contribute time or resources to help educate children of our school, please let us know. We provide about 60 scholarships a year to families that cannot afford our annual $15 tuition for each student.
