CO2 Bamboo-Bamboo Housing in Haiti

Haiti needs to think about reconstruction in terms of economic development. That's developing industries, industrial sectors of its economy, supply chain, or value chain should all be part of the reconstruction effort. We need to develop a financial model that will make all the new construction accessible to the poor majority of the country. We should embrace the idea of being a laboratory for thousands of housing types and each should have a value chain established in Haiti and supported by Haitians. If we have the right approach Haiti can be the epicenter for housing development in the region and for a lot of developing nations around the world.

I hope the next president of Haiti can instill a sense of urgency in housing development for the people living in tent cities. We also need Haitians to be united in developing strategies to solve problems. Not all of us can be leaders, some of us must be willing to be servants. We must be willing to follow a pragmatic plan even if its not our own. No amount of money will save Haiti, only Haitians can fix and resolve Haiti's problems.
