FATEM and 1000 Jobs Haiti

What is the best way the NGO industry can help with Haiti's development? A lot of people are with the mindset that 10,000 NGOs in Haiti is one too many. With all these NGOs things in Haiti are not improving. These NGOs have been in Haiti for a very long time. They do their own thing, they are not accountable to the local people that they serve. A country as poor as Haiti need NGOs as a TEMPORARY solution. When it comes to aid we need a team approach among the NGOs and between the Government of Haiti (GoH).

The GoH need to take the lead to help with the coordination, cooperation and collaboration on efforts to help the people on the ground. NGOs are a brace, you wear it temporarily until you are heal. The GoH should work as collaborator with the NGO community to help with that healing process.
